Yelwani amti is commonly known as katachi amti. Yelwani word is generally used in Marathwada side. A little different amti that is made with puran poli. It tastes just awesome. Do try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. Do not forget to like, share and subscribe.

Ingredients:
• Dry coconut
• 2 Onions
• 4~5 Garlic cloves
• Coriander leaves (Optional)
• 2 tsp Oil
• 4~5 chopped Garlic cloves
• 7~8 Curry leaves
• 2 tsp Kala masala
• 2 tsp Red chili powder
• Water
• Salt to taste

Method:
• Hold the coconut with a fork or knife inserted in it and roast it
directly on the gas.
• Roast coconut well until it gets blackish color from all sides.
• Insert knife in the onion. Do not peel them.
• Roast onions on direct gas until onion turns completely black
from outside. So that it gets roasted well inside.
• Let the onion cool down and peel it.
• Cut off the stalk and cut onions into pieces.
• Transfer the onion into a blender jar.
• Cut some of the roasted coconut into small pieces and transfer it
into the blender jar.
• Add garlic cloves, coriander leaves and blend everything into fine
paste.
• You can skip coriander leaves if you don’t like.
• Heat up oil in a pan.
• Add garlic, curry leaves and fry it a little.
• Add the blended masala and fry it for just about 2 minutes.
• As yelwani is runny add 3-4 tsp blended masala.
• Add kala masala, red chili powder and fry for just about 2
minutes.
• You can use any kala masala or stored masala available with you.
• Add yelwani or kat that we strained from cooked dal, water to
adjust the consistency, salt and mix well.
• Simmer yelwani on medium heat for about 7-8 minutes.
• Yelwani is all ready.
• It goes well with puran poli.
• You can have this as it is.
• It goes well with rice too.
